Udvar-Hazy Center Air Space Museum   Sully Plantation Historic Site

Experience Chantilly Virginia's Sully Plantation, Udvar-Hazy Center, Frying Pan Farm Park and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail WOD through our photos and insights. We have been there in Chantilly several times and provide comments regarding Sully Plantation, Udvar-Hazy Center, Frying Pan Farm Park and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail WOD location: parking, picnic areas, child play areas, nearby eateries, shopping, and other nearby attractions.

Space Shuttle Enterprise Air Space Museum Udvar Hazy Air Space Museum National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center 4.5 miles:
The National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center exhibits a large percentage of the Smithsonian's aviation and space collections, among which is the Smithsonian's collection of large craft such as the Space Shuttle Enterprise, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an Air France Concorde and several large Boeing aircrafts including the restored B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay.
Stone Dairy Building at Sully National Historic Site Marine Corps National Museum   Sully Plantation 6.1 miles:
The handsome restored main house of Sully, built in 1794, is furnished with Federal period furniture. At Sully the clapboard exterior siding has been removed from the walls of several of the outbuildings so that visitors can view the 18th century log building construction. Most of the outbuildings: kitchen, laundry, smokehouse, and the stone dairy are original to Sully. Representative 18th century slave cabin, plus formal and kitchen gardens have been constructed at Sully.

The Washington & Old Dominion Trail (W&OD)

This multi-use trail is 54-mile long and runs from urban Vienna west to rural Purcellville, Virginia.

EateriesEateries east of Route 28, a cafe on Shaw Road (off of West Church Road) can be accessed from the W&OD trail by using Ruritian Road (which crosses the W&OD trail).

Whole Foods MarketWhole Foods Market at Fair Lakes is located near Route 66 and Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100). This natural and organic food market has a large selection of fresh fruits and veggies, fish and meat counters, wines, bakery and what I partically enjoy a good choice of frozen gluten free cookies. This store is located off of Market Commons Drive in a mall that parallels route 66 and (the mall) is also on both sides of Fairfax County Parkway.
